How long does the coating actually last?
Our residential coating carries a 5-year written warranty, and in normal use we typically see performance beyond that. Lifespan depends on water hardness, how often the glass is used, and whether it's cleaned with abrasive or acidic products. We'll tell you what to expect for your specific situation at the quote.
Can you fix glass that's already cloudy and etched?
In the large majority of cases, yes. Mineral etching sits in the top layer of the glass and can be mechanically polished out before we coat. We've saved a lot of enclosures that homeowners had already been quoted to replace. If the damage is too deep to correct, we'll tell you straight rather than take the job.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is per panel and depends on size, current condition, and how much restoration work is needed up front. A standard shower enclosure that's in reasonable shape is our most common job. We quote firm and in writing before any work starts — the number doesn't change mid-job.
How long does the appointment take?
A typical shower enclosure takes two to three hours including restoration, coating, and cure time. Whole-home windows or commercial storefronts are scoped at the quote. Most jobs are finished in a single visit.
How do I clean coated glass?
Rinse and wipe with a soft cloth — that's it. Skip abrasive pads, scouring powders, and anything acidic or ammonia-heavy, since those attack the coating. We leave you with a simple written care sheet and can supply a compatible cleaner if you want one.
Is the coating safe around kids and pets?
Yes. Once cured, the coating is an inert, food-safe-grade ceramic layer bonded to the glass. There's a short cure window right after application when we ask you to keep the area clear, and we'll tell you exactly when it's ready to use.
